    Window Glass Ltd. is incorporated in Kolkata by the Kheruka family.
  • 1962
    Borosil is born as a Public Limited Company to acquire the existing business of Industrial & Engineering Apparatus Company Pvt Ltd, set up by Dr. Lele
  • 1963
    Corning Glass Works, USA joins Borosil as a technical and financial collaborator
  • 1988
    Kheruka family takes over Borosil Glass Works Ltd. from Corning Glass.
  • 1991
    Gujarat Borosil Ltd., a subsidiary of Borosil Group, set up a manufacturing facility for architectural glass in Bharuch, Gujarat.

    Gujarat Borosil Ltd., sets up India's first and only solar glass production line with a capacity of 180 TPD

    Introduced Anti-Reflective coating for solar glass, a first of its kind in India

    Developed the World's 1st Antimony-free solar glass
  • 2017
    Developed World's 1st fully tempered solar glass in 2 MM thickness‎​

    Capacity expansion to 450 TPD (equivalent to ~2.8 GW / Annum) Introduction of Shakti: Solar glass in the matt-matt finish, Selene: Antiglare solar glass for PV installations near airports

    Amalgamation of Gujarat Borosil Ltd. with Borosil Glass Works Ltd. which was renamed Borosil Renewables Ltd.‎​
  • 2021
    National Award 2021 by the Government of India for successful Commercialization of Indigenous Technology
  • 2022
    Borosil Renewables Ltd. Acquired 86% stake in Europe’s largest manufacturer of solar glass the Interfloat Group through its international subsidiaries. The manufacturing capacity was subsequently increased to 350 TPD equivalent to ~2.2 GW in 2023.
