Borosil Renewables Ltd. is the world’s premier solar glass manufacturer and is part of the Borosil Group, which has been engaged in manufacturing a wide range of consumer-ware, scientific and laboratory glass/glassware for over more than six decades. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is spread over more than 100 acres at Bharuch, Gujarat with solar glass production and processing capacity of 1000 tons per day (TPD), equivalent to ~ 6.5 GW per annum. Recently, Borosil Renewables Ltd. acquired Europe’s largest manufacturer of solar glass, the Interfloat Group consisting of Glasmanufaktur Brandenburg (GmbH), located in Tschernitz, Germany, and Interfloat Corporation, based in Liechtenstein. GMB operates a solar glass plant with a production of 350 TPD. With this acquisition, our solar glass capacity has grown to 1350 TPD.

The company has a strong focus on innovation and is known for its pioneering achievements like the development of the world’s first fully tempered 2 MM solar glass, solar glass with the lowest iron content giving the highest glass efficiency, and the first company in the world to successfully be able to remove an extremely hazardous substance – “Antimony” - from its solar glass.

The company has products like Selene, an anti-glare solar glass suitable for PV installations near airports, and Shakti, high-efficiency solar glass in matt-matt finish.

The company is known for its benchmarked low energy consumption and has maintained a 22% lower carbon footprint in comparison with the default score for the glass manufacturing industry confirmed in the Life Cycle Assessment study carried out by a reputed European institute. The company owns a 1.5 MW wind farm and has invested in a 10 MW hybrid renewable energy plant at Bharuch taking the consumption of renewable power to about 30% of the total electricity consumption. The company is actively working on increasing the share of renewable energy portfolio in the near future in line with the policy framework which could further reduce the carbon footprint. The company won the National Award in 2021 for the successful commercialization of indigenous technology from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
